Onward Christian Soldiers #8 | with Daniel Whyte III

The Bible says in Isaiah 53:4-5: “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

This passage in Isaiah is speaking prophetically of Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. The sacrificial death of Jesus Christ is the keystone of history. Without this single event nothing else would really matter. Let’s look at three aspects of the sacrifical death of Jesus Christ to help us grasp what it means for us.

1. First of all, Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God.
2. Secondly, Jesus had to die.
3. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice.
