Jesus Christ said, “It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer.”

Jesus Reveals God’s True Intent Behind the Law, Part 17 (Just Jesus Evangelistic Campaign, Day 254 since Jan. 20, 2017 / Day 621 since Jan. 1, 2016)

What is the Gospel? According to 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, the Gospel is embodied in these words: “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

1 Corinthians 2:2 says, “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.”

Dr. Walter A. Elwell, editor of the Tyndale Bible Dictionary, writes regarding the Gospel in the New Testament: “Almost without exception, the New Testament restricts its application of Gospel terminology to proclamations made during the time of fulfillment—the age in which the Salvation promised in the Old Testament is actually accomplished. The New Testament is preoccupied, not with promises of Salvation, but with news of Salvation. According to Mark, the Gospel begins not in the Old Testament but with John the Baptist, in whose work Old Testament prophecy is fulfilled. In Romans 1:1-5 the Gospel is represented as a blessing promised in the Old Testament but not actually given until Jesus comes.”

TEXT: Matthew 5:31-32:

31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

———-

Laura Petherbridge said, “The ability to pardon your spouse comes from God, not your own strength. He will help you. Your role is to surrender and desire His way above your own.”

What does reconciliation look like in a marriage that has been broken by adultery?

First, the offending party must confess his or her sin and demonstrate that they have completely turned away from the illicit relationship. This cannot be a situation where the adulterer confesses because they got caught, but because they truly understand how they have offended God and their spouse. This is shown, not just by words, but by actions. Recently, on the Focus on the Family radio broadcast, a couple in leadership at a local church shared their story of how they reconciled after the husband committed adultery with a woman in the church. After he confessed his sin to his wife and they chose to reconcile, the wife told the woman that he not only had to leave the church, but leave the city, and she did. If the offending spouse isn’t willing to cut off all interaction with the person they committed adultery with, there will always be doubts about whether that person has truly repented.

Now, if you are with us today and you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Him for Salvation from sin and Hell.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9 & 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him for your Salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and today I choose to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I trust Jesus Christ as my Savior and I choose to follow Him as Lord from this day forward. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!
