How God’s Perfect World Became Ruined (Part 1)

Welcome to the Onward Christian Soldier Discipleship Ministry. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, here to encourage you in your walk with Jesus Christ. The purpose of our time together is to strengthen you in the faith and in your walk with Christ. Our mission is to help you know all you need to know and do after you have entered through the door of accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Jesus said in John 10:9: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”My message for today is titled “How God’s Perfect World Became Ruined” (Part 1).

The Bible states in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” This is the very first verse in the Bible, and it tells us how everything that exists came into being. The universe did not come into being by itself. God created it. And God created every human being who has ever walked the earth.

The Bible shows us that God spoke the world into existence. Psalm 33 says, “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth…For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.”

When God created the earth, He prepared it to be inhabited. He created all plant life, animals, fish, and then He created His most wonderful creation — man!

Man is God’s most wonderful creation because he was created “in the image of God.” The Bible says in Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created he them.” God made the first man out of the dust of the ground. His name was Adam. God also made a beautiful wife for Adam. Her name was Eve.

God planted a garden for Adam and Eve to live in. It was called “the Garden of Eden” and it was a paradise. Every tree in the garden was beautiful to look at and good for food. Four rivers flowed through the garden. Adam and Eve had everything they needed to make them happy. God told Adam and Eve that they could freely eat of every tree in the garden except one. In Genesis 2:17, He told them, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Adam and Eve lived a happy life. The thing they enjoyed most of all was that God Himself came down to visit them every day. God walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the beautiful garden that he had made.

Today, the world is not as beautiful as it was when God made it. People are unhappy. There is lying, stealing, hatred and murder in the world today. There is sickness, sadness and death. Sin has spoiled God’s beautiful creation.

The Bible gives us three reasons as to how the world became ruined. Right now, we are going to look at the first reason why and, Lord willing, we will look at the second and third reasons why in our next two broadcasts.

The First Reason is the Rebellion of Satan and his Angels.

When God created the angels, He placed one angel over all the other angels. His name was Lucifer. He was the most beautiful, the most powerful, and the wisest of all the angels in Heaven. It seems that, for some time after he was created, this mighty angel loved God and obeyed Him perfectly. But a time came when Lucifer chose to rebel against God. Because he was so beautiful and so powerful, Lucifer’s heart was lifted up with pride. He decided that he wanted to be God!

The Bible tells us that he said in his heart: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.”

Lucifer’s great sin was the sin of rebellion against God. God saw what was in Lucifer’s heart and He cast him down from his exalted position. His name was changed to Satan which means “adversary” or “enemy.” Satan was the first angel to rebel against God but many other angels followed him in his rebellion. These angels who followed Satan are called “fallen angels” or “demons”. Satan and his fallen angels were cast out of Heaven.

Satan and his fallen angels set up a kingdom opposed to God. Ever since Satan’s rebellion, there have been two spiritual kingdoms in the universe: the kingdom of Satan and the kingdom of God. However, one day Satan and his followers will be cast into hell and punished for eternity.

That is the first reason why the world is not as beautiful as it was when God made it. Satan’s rebellion led to the fall of man which we will discuss in our next broadcast.

Now, before we conclude our time together, allow me to say that if you are listening and you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today and forever. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer and you meant it from your heart, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!
