How God’s Perfect World Became Ruined (Part 2)

Welcome to the Onward Christian Soldier Discipleship Ministry. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, here to encourage you in your walk with Jesus Christ. The purpose of our time together is to strengthen you in the faith and in your walk with Christ. Our mission is to help you know all you need to know and do after you have entered through the door of accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Jesus said in John 10:9: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

My message for today is titled “How God’s Perfect World Became Ruined”, Part 2. Let’s pray together before we begin.

The Bible states in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” The Bible tells us that everything that God made was good and perfect. However, the world today is not as beautiful as it was when God made it. People are unhappy. There is lying, stealing, hatred and murder in the world today. There is sickness, sadness and death. Sin has spoiled God’s beautiful creation.

The Bible gives us three reasons as to how the world became ruined. Last week, we looked at the first reason which was the Rebellion of Satan and his Angels. Today, we are looking at the Second Reason, which is the Disobedience of Man.

The Bible says in Genesis 3:1-6;

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

When God created Adam and Eve He placed them in the Garden of Eden. As we mentioned before, He told them that they could eat the fruit of every tree in the garden except one.

One day Satan (the angel who had rebelled against God) came into the garden in the form of a serpent. His purpose was to deceive Eve and trick them into disobeying God. Satan told Eve that she would not surely die if she ate the forbidden fruit. He told her that she and her husband would become “as gods” by eating the fruit.

Unfortunately, Eve believed Satan’s lie. She took the forbidden fruit and ate it and then she offered the fruit to Adam. Now Adam had to make a choice. Adam was not deceived by what Satan had told Eve. He knew what God had said. Nevertheless, Adam took the forbidden fruit and ate it. Adam and Eve had disobeyed God.

Even though God loved Adam and Eve very much, God is righteous and He could not overlook their sin. As punishment, God told Adam and Eve that they would have to leave the beautiful Garden of Eden.

That is the second reason why the world is not as beautiful as it was when God made it. The fall of man led to all humans having a sinful nature which we will discuss in our next broadcast.

Now, before we conclude our time together, allow me to say that if you are listening and you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today and forever. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer and you meant it from your heart, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!
